For many, Marbella is simply synonymous with luxury and famous people. However, its historic center hides a lot of charm and thousands of years of history that create a wonderful contrast and an unexpected legacy for visitors. Let yourself be carried away by one of the most beautiful cities on the Andalusian coast.

A white pearl by the sea

White houses, narrow streets, lively squares, whitewashed churches and street chapels, flamenco tablaos, colorful flowers, orange trees… Listing all the beauties of Marbella is a very complicated task, so it’s better not to let others tell you about it and visit it with us.

From its emblematic Parque de la Alameda, we will enter the old city to visit Plaza de los Naranjos, the Church of the Incarnation, the remains of the wall and fortress, the sculptures of the genius Salvador Dalí, and of course, the sea.

With remains that speak of its Roman past, an important Islamic period, and a Christian conquest that also left an indelible mark, Marbella becomes the perfect city to enjoy a fascinating history but also streets and squares full of life, an enviable weather, and the blue sea just a few meters from the center.

As with all our excursions and guided tours, the time is yours: breaks, shopping stops, coffee, a snack, whatever you need! The idea is to enjoy Marbella without stress.

What will we see?

Plaza de los Naranjos

In addition to being the main square of the city, the orange trees that give it its name also give it a particular charm. As the old main square of Marbella, it still has the Town Hall, the fountain, the oldest church in the city, and some other secrets.

Church of the Incarnation

It is the main temple of Marbella and its beautiful entrance is proof of that. Inside, we can see the curious chapels, as well as several images of Marbella’s Holy Week.

Street Chapels

Testimony of a very religious past and sometimes the result of spontaneity, it is very easy to pass by without seeing them if you don’t pay attention. It’s lucky that you will visit Marbella with a guide.

Wall

Unfortunately, it is not so easy to find cities that still have their walls today. Marbella, however, has an important section of its defense from Islamic times and also in a beautiful setting that will make you automatically take your camera out of your pocket.

Parque de la Alameda

Marbella has several parks around its historic center, green lungs that give rest to locals and visitors. Its main park separates the city from the sea, thus serving as a perfect transition between the history of Marbella and its beautiful sea.

Avenida del Mar

At one time it was part of the city’s main park. Today it is a perfect walk to the sea from the city, full of sculptures designed by a genius like Salvador Dalí.

Playa de Venus

The urban beach closest to the old town will offer us, very close to the main monuments, an unparalleled view of the sea. A perfect end for a city that has it all: history, a pleasant climate, and the Mediterranean just a few steps away.
