Frequently Asked Questions
These are some of the most frequently asked questions that may arise when booking a tour with Hola Málaga, but we remind you that we are always available at info@holamalaga.com and also during office hours by phone or WhatsApp at +34 613 64 78 44. We will be happy to answer any questions.
1. What does “Private Tour” mean?
It means that the tour is just for you and/or your group, whether you are a couple, a family, a group of friends, colleagues, or an association. It doesn’t matter the number of people or the type of group, the most important thing you should know is that you will not share the tour with anyone else, and your guide will be dedicated only to you.
2. What should I bring to the guided tour?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and suitable walking shoes regardless of the time of year the tour takes place. For the summer, it is especially recommended to bring protection for both the skin (sunscreen) and the head (cap, hat, visor, etc.). Although we always look for shaded areas, it is not always possible due to the characteristics of the place or the availability of shade at the time, as well as the path between one place and another.
Water is also very important, and of course, a camera or smartphone to capture the best moments of the visit.
3. What happens if it rains on the day of the tour?
In case of rain, the guided tour will still take place. We recommend bringing an umbrella or raincoat. If the weather conditions are extreme, we will contact you to reschedule the tour.
4. Is any transportation included in the tour?
Hola Málaga tours are designed to be done on foot. They are commonly known as “Walking Tours.” The historic centers we visit generally have all the attractions quite close to each other, and it is not necessary to travel by vehicle.
Similarly, each of the Hola Málaga tours is planned to meet your guide at the destination. However, all tours can be turned into an Excursion from Málaga. For this, we ask you to contact us through the means indicated a few paragraphs above.
5. In what languages do you offer tours?
We offer tours in Spanish, English, and Italian. If you are interested in another language, we have less availability, but it can also be arranged, so don’t hesitate to ask us.
6. Can I see something that is not included in the tour description or visit a city that is not offered on the website?
The good thing about private tours is that they are customizable. Therefore, it doesn’t matter if you change the meeting point, if we pick you up at one of the city’s accommodations, add the spot you’re looking for your photo or that panoramic point that has been recommended to you, or even shorten or lengthen the route.
As for cities not offered on the website, ask us! We are constantly working on new cultural and nature visits, and it is very possible that we can offer what you are looking for.
7. What if I change my mind during the tour?
Sometimes it’s tempting to pass by a monument like the Alcazaba of Málaga and want to take the opportunity to see it inside. Just keep in mind that if it was not planned in the tour, you have to pay the entrance fees separately if it is a monument with a cost. If the monument has no cost, we generally already have it planned in the route. The duration of the tour may also be altered, thus modifying the price according to the new duration.
8. Are guided tours suitable for children?
Yes, our guided tours are suitable for people of all ages, including children. We offer activities and explanations adapted for the little ones.
9. Are the tours wheelchair accessible?
Most of Hola Málaga tours are wheelchair accessible. There are some monuments that, due to their own characteristics, are not very recommended, such as the Alcazabas of Málaga and Antequera or the Gibralfaro Castle.
10. When and how do I pay for the tour?
Generally, at the time of booking via bank transfer. If the tour date is very close to the booking date, you can pay on the day of the visit.
11. What happens if we are a REALLY large group?
For groups of more than 30 people, the legal requirement is to divide the group, so there will be two guides conducting the tour with you. Of course, the group can be divided even if there are fewer than 30 people if you prefer a more personalized experience.
12. Can I cancel my visit?
Of course, at any time and for any reason. As long as it is at least 24 hours in advance, you will be refunded 100% of what you have paid up to the time of cancellation.
13. Do you offer accompaniment services?
Yes, please contact us through the mentioned means. There are many forms of accompaniment: a solo traveler who just wants conversation or doesn’t want to hike alone for safety reasons; a group that needs at least someone to organize the visit at the destination, give directions, recommendations, etc.; whatever your case, we encourage you to tell us what you need.
